I’ve just discovered that changes I make to a post once it’s been posted the first time, don’t get changed on the RSS feed. For example, I will post something, then read it and find I’ve forgotten to capitalize a word or left out a word or a comma. The RSS feed doesn’t get updated. In most cases this is not a big deal but in my previous post, Oops, I wrote that I hadn’t taken more than a day off from playing but I remembered that I took two weeks off after my surgery last December so I edited the post. Anyone who read the feed didn’t see that change. I tried adding ‘updated’ to the blog heading but that didn’t change the RSS feed either.
I’ve searched the WordPress support pages and their forum but didn’t see anything about this. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

As far as I know, the feed will update itself but not immediately. Also, too if someone reads it once in their RSS program they may or may not see the updated version.
Myself, I try to make a notice of updates at the top of a post. For example:
UPDATE: fixed some spelling errors.
Some bloggers use strikeouts to mark out the incorrect text, then make the correction right next to the strikeout.

Yes, this helps. I know from your blog that when “Updated” and the date is by the title the RSS feed removes the original post and replaces it with a new post. Also, on your actual page the word updated does not show up. I was hoping to be able to do something similar.
I think you host your own blog site so you must have coded it so your feeds do this.
I will be much more diligent before I post to help with this problem and I like your idea of identifying the reason for the update.

The HTML tage for the strikeout is <del>words to strikeout</del>.
This is not a “rule” in blogging, but some bloggers do this.
